Crime Log: SBPD arrests theft suspects after pursuit

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 Seal Beach Police officers arrested Garden Grove residents Ryan Putney, 33, and Amee Harvasty, 32, on suspicion of vehicle theft, receiving stolen property and evading arrest.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. Seal Beach officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle that had entered the Leisure World retirement community. Officers located the vehicle, a truck, and attempted to initiate a vehicle stop. The truck failed to yield and lead officers on a pursuit through the cities of Long Beach, Los Alamitos and back into Seal Beach. The vehicle ultimately yielded and the suspects were taken into custody. Police say that a motorcycle reported as stolen was discovered in the back of the truck and returned to the owner.

Seal Beach detectives are investigating similar crimes in and around Leisure World. Police are asking anyone related to this incident to contact Detective Samantha Mathias at 562-799-4100 ext. 1108.
