Editor’s note: This week’s Crime Log is based on two documents provided by the Seal Beach Police Department: an eight-page summary version of the log and a 21-page detailed version. Summary logs provide no details about incidents or arrests. The summary log covers the period from Oct. 17 to Oct. 24.

The detailed version covered Oct. 13 to 14 and provided information about 49 incidents.

In Seal Beach

Sunday, October 13

• Vehicle Blockage – 8:44 a.m. – 6th Street – The caller stated that a white Chevrolet was blocking their driveway. Police cited the vehicle.

• Driveway Obstruction – 2:23 p.m. – 6th Street – The same caller reported that the white Chevrolet was still blocking their driveway. The caller waited to give the owner a chance to move the car, but now wanted the car towed.

• Suspicious Occupied Vehicle – 2:44 p.m. – Seal Beach Boulevard – Officers pulled over a 1997 black Honda Accord because the license plates were determined to belong to that of a Chevrolet. The vehicle was in violation of expired registration, as well as vehicle code 22651(o)(1)(b), displaying a license plate that was not issued for that vehicle, or is not otherwise lawfully used on that vehicle.

• Beached – 3:57 p.m. – Surfside Avenue – The caller said that someone in a truck was on the sand attempting to get a boat.

He was told that he cannot drive his personal vehicle on the sand.

• Possible DUI – 6:09 p.m. – Seal Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway – The caller reported seeing a woman driving a black truck while drinking a beer. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

• Impound – 6:21 p.m. – Ocean Avenue – A Toyota Highlander was impounded due to multiple parking or traffic violations.

Impound – 7:20 p.m. – Seal Beach Boulevard – A Toyota Camry was impounded due to expired registration for longer than six months.

Welfare Check – 7:34 p.m. – Pacific Coast Highway – The caller stated that someone had been locked in the bathroom for two hours and could be heard snoring.

Domestic Violence – 9:00 p.m. – 1st Street – Officers responded to a call regarding a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The man then locked the door, not allowing the woman in the house.

Battery – 10:37 p.m. – Seal Beach Boulevard – The caller stated that her daughter and her daughter’s friend were assaulted by a Lyft driver the night before. The daughter said that the Lyft driver also hit the center divider and may have been under the influence.

Monday, October 14

Disturbing Noise – 8:49 a.m. – Main Street – The caller said that there was a work truck in front of their location with workers painting and making a lot of noise. The caller requested that police check the workers’ permit. Police advised that the company was hired by the City of Seal Beach to paint, and must paint between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. when there are no cars parked along the curb.

Thursday, October 17

Paraphernalia – Pacific Coast Highway and Marvista Avenue – James Max Seiveley was arrested on suspicion of possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

Friday, October 18

Suspicious Circumstances – 4:03 p.m. – Marvista Avenue – The caller reported a loud, mechanical sound coming from a possibly vacant residence all day long. Police determined that, according to Seal Beach Municipal Code 7.15.025 E, noise from construction-associated activities is permitted until 8:00 p.m.

Possible DUI – Westminster Avenue and Bolsa Chica Road – Nathan Thomas Steinert was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Arrest – 7:02 p.m. – Westminster Avenue – William Westmoreland was arrested on suspicion of having an open container of alcohol in a public place.

Saturday, October 19

Open Container – 12:22 a.m. – Ocean Avenue – Michael Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of possessing an open container of alcohol in public.

Open Container – 12:22 a.m. – Ocean Avenue – Carlos Sal Caballero was arrested on suspicion of possessing an open container of alcohol in public.

Open Container – 12:22 a.m. – Ocean Avenue – Ramiro Fabian Gutierrezsantos was arrested on suspicion of possessing an open container of alcohol in public.

Suspicious Circumstances – 3:38 a.m. – Electric Avenue – The caller stated that they heard voices next door, which concerned them because the house next door is under construction and has a fence around it.

Peering in Windows – 4:32 a.m. – Marina Drive – The caller said that their friend said they saw a person in the parking lot looking into vehicles and thought that the person may be trying to break into cars. Police were unable to locate the person in question.

Vehicle Impound – 3:54 p.m. – Marina Drive and 4th Street – A gray Chevrolet Silverado was impounded for expired registration.

Grand Theft – 6:13 p.m. – Edinger Avenue – The caller reported that their boat, located in a secure portion of a lot, was damaged and had items missing.

Arrest – 9:02 p.m. – Pacific Coast Highway – Tyler Newland was arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal drug paraphernalia and on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.

Sunday, October 20

Controlled Substance – 12:23 a.m. – Seal Beach Boulevard – William Aron Lechleiter was arrested on suspicion of possessing a narcotic controlled substance.

Disorderly – Marina Drive – Timothy James Matheny was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct related to alcohol.

Spousal Abuse – Harvard Lane – William Richard Olsen was arrested on suspicion of inflicting injury on a spouse or cohabitant.

Tuesday, October 22

Disorderly – Pacific Coast Highway – Thomas Christopher Mosnot was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct related to alcohol.
