Crime Log: One unit damaged in two-alarm fire on Montecito Road

A two-alarm fire damaged one unit on the third floor of a building in the Rossmoor Park condominum complex last week. One man, a neighbor  who lived down the hall, was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, according to Capt. John Muir, public information officer for the Orange County Fire Authority.

According to the Seal Beach Police Department log, eight engines responded to the fire.

Muir said the fire was accidental. According to Muir, a burner was left on

Muir said the fire agency received the report about the fire at 12200 Montecito Rd., which is located in Seal Beach behind the Shops at Rossmoor Center, at 11:52 a.m., Monday, June 10.

Building B, where the fire occurred, was evacuated.

Muir said OCFA fire fighters, supported by the Long Beach Fire department,  cut a hole in the roof of unit B-317.

Muir said a 63-year-old resident who lived “a couple” of doors down the hall was treated for smoke inhalation and released at the scene.
