The Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce announced this week that they will introduce a popular Nashville music tradition to Seal Beach next month. The four-day Nashville on the Coast event will take place March 9-12 and will feature Songwriter Rounds at five local venues. Each intimate round will spotlight three Nashville singer-songwriters.

Nashville Tennessee is the heart of country music and the home to places like the Country Music Hall of Fame, RCA Studio B, The Grand Ole Opry, and Lower Broadway. Lower Broadway in Nashville is like Main St. in Seal Beach; filled with people having fun, eating good food, and listening to great music.

Daren DeLeon, local promoter, along with the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce, is bringing that Nashville vibe to Seal Beach. DeLeon said, “We want to bring this intimate music experience to Seal Beach so that people on the west coast can feel that unique ambiance as they walk, shop, and dine in our beautiful sea-side town.”

A Songwriter Round is a time-honored Nashville tradition where a group of three or four songwriters share a stage and take turns singing one of their songs, first sharing quick stories about the inspiration for the song and rotating throughout the evening.

The three singer-songwriters being featured at the event are Kaleb Garrett, Michael Jay Hughes, and Scott Fleetwood. Each of them is making a name for himself on the competitive Nashville scene.

Michael Jay is a True authentic country artist, and a throwback to 80s and 90s country with a powerful voice. His latest release, “Keith Whitley Songs,” is gaining notoriety very quickly after his award-winning single “Playing with Fire.”

Kaleb Garret has opened for artists including Travis Tritt, Three Dog Night & Diamond Rio. Kaleb broke into the Top 100 of the Country charts with “Only One” a single released Spring 2021 with acclaimed Nashville producer, Larry Rogers.

Scott Fleetwood, known by fans as the “Beach Cowboy,” recently released the country-rocker “Blaze Through the Change” and “It’s Time” featuring Tina Vonn.

On March 9, 2022, the three artists will appear at 320 Main, on March 10 at Hennessey’s Tavern on Main Street, on March 11 at Glory Days Beachside Grill, and on March 12 at Bogarts Coffee House in the afternoon and O’Malley’s on Main in the evening.

While the artists are in town, they will also be meeting with the Los Alamitos High School Show Choir to talk about the music industry. The Los Al Show Choir will be traveling to Nashville just two weeks later to defend their National Grand Championship at the Grand Ole Opry.
