Leisure World has hired Paul Bristow as its new chief of security. Bristow, 60, brings more than 30 years of experience to the job, most recently as corporate security manager with Goodwill Southern California, where he was responsible for 80 stores on five campuses and 55 security officers. Prior to that, he was vice president of corporate security for Fox Entertainment Group, managing security and threat prevention for Fox facilities and personnel, including high-profile executives and on-air employees around the world.

A UK native, Bristow was a constable with the Metropolitan Police in the 1970s, assigned to one of London’s highest crime areas. A strong desire to work in a community setting is what attracted him to the Leisure World job.

“I like being able to serve the people directly,” he told the Sun. “My first priority will be meeting members of the community and understanding what they want and need from their security department.”

Bristow will manage a staff of more than 70 full- and part-time employees in the 9,000-resident gated community. Tommy Fileto, who had been serving as interim security chief since February, will return to his position as recreation supervisor.
