Plaque thefts plague Seal Beach

Over the past few months, many long standing monument plaques have been taken.  Plaques that commemorate President Eisenhower, former employees of the city, resident Veterans, the plaque at the Mary Wilson Library noting it’s opening, the  Centennial House (the green 20th century beach cottage) next to the Red Car, etc.

Recreation Manager Tim Kelsey was out of the office on Feb. 18, but in an email on that date he wrote that the city knew “that several plaques have gone missing recently.” Pictured are plaques taken from Eisenhower Park.
