SUMMARY:Mother’s Day Art Festival
DESCRIPTION:Las Damas will be hosting the 54th Art Festival in Sunset Beach on May 7- 8\, 2022. Festival times are Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. \nOver 150 vendor arts & crafts booths are located on the grass area/greenbelt between N. Pacific and S. Pacific from Broadway to 6th street. Artists will display their homemade wares making it a great place to find the perfect gift! Parents relax while kids play in the kids’ zone which will include a petting zoo\, a large wave for pictures\, and Mermaids to help children make gifts for their Mothers. Our opening ceremony takes place on Saturday with a marching band and a parade. Don’t want to miss the fun! \nThere will be a variety of choices for food this year including Food Trucks and Food Vendors with a vegan option. Enjoy food\, beer and wine on our outdoor patio at the community center (previously the fire station) at 12th street\, while listening to music all day long from local bands. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our upcoming volunteer day\, Saturday\, April 2\, from 9 to 11 a.m. on the Monarch Nature Trail. Volunteers help restore this open-space wildlife habitat and trail\, supporting Orange County’s Monarch Butterfly population! \nWith the recent rain\, we may not need to do much watering\, but we do need help weeding and we have some plants to get in the ground. We also have a pile of mulch to spread\, plus other jobs! All ages are welcome\, and youth are invited to participate in a hands-on nature activity. \nFor those unfamiliar with The Monarch Nature Trail\, it is the former Navy railroad right-of-way in North Huntington Beach. Enter at the Rancho Rd. entrance (near Spa Drive\, where you can park)\, and look for our table. (Byram Healthcare on Rancho abuts the trail.) See monarchnaturetrail\, and hit the History tab for a map. \nThanks for helping us save the Monarchs and maintain this popular walking/jogging/dogging/biking trail. \nPS: The next volunteer day is May 7\, same time and place.
