DESCRIPTION:Learn about the history of Los Cerritos Wetlands and look for birds during a nature walk on Saturday\, May 7 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Bring binoculars\, if you have them\, to view wetlands wildlife. This walk is appropriate for ages 7 and up. Closed toes shoes are required. Park at the intersection of PCH and 1st St.\, just at the border of Long Beach and Seal Beach. SUMMARY:Mother’s Day Art Festival
DESCRIPTION:Las Damas will be hosting the 54th Art Festival in Sunset Beach on May 7- 8\, 2022. Festival times are Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. \nOver 150 vendor arts & crafts booths are located on the grass area/greenbelt between N. Pacific and S. Pacific from Broadway to 6th street. Artists will display their homemade wares making it a great place to find the perfect gift! Parents relax while kids play in the kids’ zone which will include a petting zoo\, a large wave for pictures\, and Mermaids to help children make gifts for their Mothers. Our opening ceremony takes place on Saturday with a marching band and a parade. Don’t want to miss the fun! \nThere will be a variety of choices for food this year including Food Trucks and Food Vendors with a vegan option. Enjoy food\, beer and wine on our outdoor patio at the community center (previously the fire station) at 12th street\, while listening to music all day long from local bands. Admission is free. \nOn Sunday afternoon our one of a kind Quilt—handmade squares made by local residents\, will be raffled off. \nVisitors can also view and purchase fine art from the Firehouse Art Gallery\, a juried art exhibit located in the former Sunset Beach fire station. \nInterested in being a Vendor to sell your handcrafted items or an Artist to enter your art in our art gallery\, please visit our website to download vendor applications at: sunsetbeachartfestival.net.

SUMMARY:LB Lawn Bowling Open House
DESCRIPTION:The Long Beach Lawn Bowling Club is hosting an Open House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. along with other clubs nationwide. The goal of the Open House is to introduce new people to the sport of lawn bowling.  It is a sport for all ages which is competitive and requires strategy and finesse. It is a very social and rewarding sport and offers opportunities to compete at many different levels with other clubs and in other countries. \nAt the Open House on May 7\, they will be offering free lessons\, and bowling equipment is provided. We ask that guests wear flat-soled shoes to protect the greens.
