SBPD seeks robbery suspects

Seal Beach Police Department

The Seal Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding two men who forcibly took a woman’s purse this week.

On Tuesday, May 9, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a 69-year-old woman was driving her car in the parking lot of the Imperial Spa in the City of Garden Grove.  A gray Jaguar struck her car from behind and two men got out of the Jaguar.  The men would not provide insurance information and the victim did not have all of her insurance information.  The victim agreed to get the insurance information from her home with the men following her.

While enroute to her home, the victim changed her mind and stopped at the Ayres Hotel in Seal Beach.  While she was talking to one of the men, the other man grabbed her.  She escaped and ran into the hotel lobby.  The suspects took her satchel from her car and fled in the gray Jaguar.

The suspects were described as: (Suspect #1) male, black, mid-20s, 6 feet, 200 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.  (Suspect #2) male, black, mid-20s, 6 feet, 170 pounds, wearing a short-sleeve white shirt with an unknown logo, and blue jeans.

The suspects’ car was described as a possible older, gray, Jaguar 4-door sedan with a non-functioning right rear brake light.

The Seal Beach Police Department is asking anyone with information about this robber to call Detective Jeff Gibson at 562-799-4100 ext. 1109.
