All communities in Southern California, including Seal Beach, are overbuilt and overdeveloped, negatively impacting the quality of life for most. We do not need any more gyms anywhere. Defeat this proposal.

I have lived in Rossmoor for many years and have seen such an increase in traffic. I can't imagine how terrible it will be if L A Fitness goes in. We don't need a gym when there are several not far from us. I hope this does not go through.

The proposed gym is absolutely insane. That area is so crowded as it is. I'd love the idea of a nursery such as Armstrongs, but a huge gym!?!?! Would be a picking frenzy for car break ins too.

Seal Beach council members voting for this project may feel more comfortable sleeping at night because they believe the EIR minimizing the traffic impact, against the wishes of those opposed. If the EIR is true and LA Fitness doesn't bring much traffic to the area, then does LA Fitness really bring more business into the area? If the EIR is incorrect then the surrounding residents have to deal with irreversible consequences.

You can't have it both ways, thinking that there isn't going to be traffic impact while improving business in the area.

LA fitness doesn't fit here. They want to build a 40k sq ft building facing Home Goods. So the back of the building will be what you see when you TRY to get to Sprouts or other shops. They want to take out the side walks an green belts to accommodate traffic. But it will not accommodate anyone. It will create gridlock. At our expense, I hear LA fitness wont be paying for the these changes, so it will be our tax dollars that pay for this mess. Traffic on Seal Beach Blvd, the stop sign at Sprouts and the traffic on Montecito is already heavy at times. All the residential streets will be greatly impacted as residents try to avoid Montecito and the shopping center. We need to support the existing local business. Keep Rossmoor a home town not a commuter stop.

The LA Fitness will have a horrendous impact on traffic in Rossmoor and in the shopping center as well as on Seal Beach Blvd and other thoroughfares. Condo parking will be forced to park further into Rossmoor streets since they will not be allowed to park in the shopping center overnight. Also, where will all the parked cars go on street sweep Mondays?? Traffic congestion, crime and accidents will multiply and quality of life as we know it now will decline. It is not desirable and not wanted.

No. There are multiple fitness locations all over Los Alamitos, Rossmoor and Seal Beach and this will do nothing for our community.

I have all the police reports from Garden Grove, Cypress, and Long Beach for the last two years. These reports specifically are for logged calls for 24 Hour Fitness and LA Fitness. The results are as expected for repeated crimes, sampling:

Petty Theft, Burglary, Stolen Cars, Grand Larceny (stolen fenders), spousal abuse, intoxication indecent exposure, loud music, drug overdose, unlawful occupancy, knife assaults, broken glass, unwanted guests, et el.

This is obsolete, positively, not wanted behind Sprouts, please disapprove this project. No one has mentioned the really excellent club at Long Beach State near the pool...membership includes the large pool use. Rossmoor does not need this oversized Health Clubs at the Shops of Rossmoor.

Absolutely not - there are at LEAST 14 gyms within a 3 mile radius of this proposed gym - most of them LOCALLY OWNED. The safety issues this "thing" presents are overwhelming and completely unnecessary.
For those few people who think it would be great to have a gym closer than 1-3 miles: think LONG TERM; think of your neighbors and the thousands of children that are at risk.
