Leisure World Library needs a lost and found

Recently I found a cell phone at the library. I gave it to the assistant librarian,Taylor Greene. If you are the owner, contact the Leisure World library.

I suggest a small “Lost and Found” box be put in the library where shareholders can place lost  or found items like a set of keys, cell phones, visor, hat, eye or sun glasses, etc., for easy access.

The assistant librarian is always busy taking care of incoming or outgoing phone calls, helping shareholders with the computer, checking CD’s, books, magazines, etc. This small “Lost and Found” box will surely be an easy access for both shareholders and library staff members.

Republican Women promote values

A primary reason for the surge of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Dr. Ben Carson is because their positions are not based on pollsters or party establishment decrees, but rather what they think is the right course of action for this nation. How refreshing!

We are disappointed that Democrat Cong. Alan Lowenthal, representing the 47th district, usually follows President Barack Obama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi when deciding if he will be pro or con on a matter. (Can Alan Lowenthal think for himself?) Lowenthal’s twisted logic in support of the Iran Nuclear Arms Deal, which can also be called the “Help Iran Provide Nuclear Arms to Terrorists” deal, is just another example of the congressman voting lockstep with the Democrat Party. In this case, he is voting against a secure United States of America. These Iranian-supported terrorists are ravaging and killing Christians throughout the Middle East with a goal of exporting that savagery to American shores.

Within the 47th District, there are many people who believe that voting for the Iran arms deal is on a par with Neville Chamberlain in 1938 waving a pledge Adolph Hitler signed and declaring to the world, “peace for our time.” We all know how that worked out.

On the day President Obama announced this deal, the Iranian people were dancing with delight in the streets. Moreover, they celebrated by burning American and Israeli flags. Does anyone recall Americans celebrating? Of course not! What is there to celebrate when President Obama gave the Iranians everything they wanted? The United States didn’t even get back the American Christian prisoners who continue to rot in Iranian prisons!

If you’re reading this letter and wonder what you can do:

• There’s still time! Call Cong. Lowenthal’s office and urge a NO vote: 562-436-3828.

• Attend Cong. Lowenthal’s upcoming town hall meeting on Saturday, Oct. 3 in Stanton to let him know your views about his support for the “Help Iran Provide Nuclear Arms to Terrorists” deal.

• Attend meetings and become active in conservative organizations that promote Republican values and candidates, including in 2016 the 47th district Republican candidate.

We believe that the Iran Nuclear Arms Deal is a threat to the United States of America! We urge Cong. Lowenthal to vote NO!

To learn more, the community is invited to attend the Sept. 19 Rossmoor-Republican Women Federated meeting at the Cypress Courtyard Marriott where we will be applauding the outstanding work of Honor Flight, a non-profit organization that recognizes the valued contribution of our World War II veterans. The breakfast buffet meeting is just $20 per person and starts at 9:30 a.m. and concludes before noon. Several World War II veterans will be our special guests. Thanks Barbara Lands

I want to thank the Sun for publishing my recent letter in praise of Beach Fitness for significantly helping me in my struggle with colon cancer.

The results have been astounding. My doctor is truly amazed that I’ve had the best “marker” numbers in the last 10 years.

I just want to call attention to the special contribution of Barbara Lands, M.A., the owner and nutritional therapy practitioner, who designed my customized menus and accompanied me on my path to recovery.

Without her encouragement and skill I wouldn’t be looking forward to what I hope to be many more years of health and vitality.
