SBPD officers to serve dinner at Macaroni Grill

Seal Beach Police Officers wills serve dinner to Romano’s Macaroni Grill from 4 to 9 p.m., Thursday, July 31. The event will raise money for the Neurology Department of Children’s Hospital of Orange County. A percentage of sales and tips will be donated to CHOC. The Federal Tax ID number is  95-6097416.

“A few years back, members of the Seal Beach Police Department became close friends with one of our local McGaugh Elementary Students named, Jack Rogers and his family. Jack is an outstanding inspiration to our community and is only 10 years old,” said Sgt. Phil Gonshak. “At the age of 4 years old, Jack contracted Viral Encephalitis which resulted in a diagnosis called, Medically Intractable Epilepsy. In short, Jack suffers anywhere from 5-20 seizures a day and there is currently no cure.”

“After visiting him post-surgery in the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, his only wish was to have more toys on his floor to play with. When on the Cancer floor, the patients have many toys; however, when on the Neurological floor, there is not much for the kids to do. Because of this wish, it is our desire to change this with whatever donations we can raise,” Gonshak said.
