National Night Out event set for Tuesday, Aug. 2, in Seal Beach

The Seal Beach Police Department in the City of Seal Beach will participate in the 33rd Annual National Night Out, 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 2.

National Night Out provides an opportunity for the Seal Beach, Los Alamitos and Cypress Police Departments and their community partners to enhance crime prevention by promoting cooperative relationships and reinforcing the need for community involvement.

The corporate partner for National Night Out is “Target” and this year’s event will take place at the Old Ranch Towne Center at 12300 Seal Beach Blvd., in the northern parking lot.

National Night Out is a designated evening when communities across America come together to take a stand against crime, drugs, and disorder in their neighborhoods.

The Seal Beach Police Department will be partnering with members of the community to affirm our conviction against crime, and promote health, safety and personal preparedness.

“Heightened crime prevention awareness improves the quality of life for everyone. It is essential that citizens are aware of the importance of police-community partnerships in the identification of problems, and the impact those partnerships have on solving those problems,” said Seal Beach Police Chief Joe Stilinovich.

Event organizers expect 3,500 to 4,000 attendees.
