Four candidates have qualified to run for two Seal Beach City Council seats this year. Five other candidates have qualified to run for three seats on the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board of Education. Election Day will be Tuesday, Nov. 8.
CITY COUNCIL RACE
In City Council District Two (College Park West and part of Leisure World), Thomas Moore of College Park West and Ronde Winkler of Leisure World are competing for Councilman David Sloan’s seat. Sloan has termed out of office. In District Four (College Park East and Towne Center), Gina Phillips and Schelly Sustarsic, are running for Councilman Gary Miller’s seat. Miller has also termed out.
SCHOOL BOARD RACE
In the school board race, Robert Aguilar Jr., Dave Boyer, Meg Cutuli, Cathy Larson and Karen Russell are running for three at-large positions. Boyer, Cutuli and Russell are seeking re-election.
The school district includes Seal Beach, Rossmoor, Los Alamitos and small parts of Cypress and Long Beach.
