Recreation commission to consider park proposal on Feb. 22

The Seal Beach Tree Advisory board will look at the Bay City Partners’ proposed plans for the former DWP property at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14.

All meetings related to the Bay City Partners’ property will be held in the City Council Chambers.

The Tree Advisory Board won’t be the only Bay City Partners-related matter on the Seal Beach city government’s February agenda.

The Recreation and Parks Commission will meet at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22, to look at Bay City Partner’s proposal for a 6.5 acre potential park site in Seal Beach’s Old Town area.

The Bay City Partners’ proposal for the park includes eight potential facilities: a regulation soccer field, a junior soccer field, a Little League baseball field, off street parking, a tot lot, restrooms, a lawn and picnic area and a walkway to the San Gabriel River Bike Trail.

Brian  Kyle, of Bay City Patners, told the Sun that the park could have a basketball court.

Last but not least, the final version of the Environmental Impact Report on the proposed changes to the so-called DWP site plan will be released for public comment on Friday, Feb. 24.

The DWP Advisory Committee will look at its final recomendation for the project at 6:30 p.m., March 3.

The Environmental Quality Control Board will look at the Final EIR at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 13.
