Funds to upgrade schools

The Los Alamitos Unified School District accepted a generous donation from the city of Los Alamitos at a recent District Board meeting.

The city gave the school district $300,000 toward the modernization project at Oak Middle School.

These funds will be used to build a public restroom and to make repairs on the Oak gym.  The school district and city have a long-standing relationship that fosters community use of the Oak gym and athletic fields.

This modernization project will benefit the entire school community, including the city and various groups that use the facilities.  “We are extremely pleased and overjoyed to receive this donation toward this project,” stated Superintendent Kropp.
