Same suspect strikes same branch twice in less than a month Charles Kelly | Fri, Nov 13 2009 11:47 AM

The bank robber actually returned to the scene of his crime.

The same man who robbed the Wachovia bank branch located near Leisure World last month apparently struck again—in the same bank—on Monday afternoon, Nov. 9.

According to Seal Beach Police Sgt. Steve Bowles, investigators believe the man who robbed the Seal Beach Village shopping center branch of Wachovia bank at approximately 2:06 p.m. on Monday of this week is the same man who robbed the Seal Beach Village Wachovia branch Tuesday morning, Oct. 13. The bank is located at 12962 Seal Beach Blvd.

“He must be pretty comfortable with that location,” Bowles said.

Bowles did not disclose how much money the suspect took in his most recent bank job. However, he said that “by all accounts” the description of the suspect was the same in both crimes and the suspect used a note in both bank robberies. On Oct. 13, he presented a teller with a note that said he had a weapon and demanded money. No weapon was seen in either of the bank robberies.

The suspect was described as a white man, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, in his 30s, with an adhesive bandage over his left ear.

No one was physically injured during either bank robbery.

A photograph of the suspect taken on Oct. 13 was posted on the Web site labankrobbers.org. The Web site had not been updated with a new photograph of the redundant robber.

According to labankrobbers.com, there have been 49 bank robberies in Orange County so far this year. That figure presumably does not include the Nov. 9 crime.
