Police arrest man on suspicion of burglary

The Seal Beach Police recently arrested Damon Ellwood, a Caucasian man, 38, of Seal Beach, on suspicion of multiple charges of burglary and possession of stolen property.

On Thursday, Jan. 7, Seal Beach detectives responded to Ellwood’s residence within Leisure World, to serve a search warrant. Ellwood moved into the Leisure World community after being released from custody for theft related crimes in November of 2015.  Since that date, significant increases in bicycle thefts were reported in Seal Beach. Police say his arrest cleared five active burglary cases within the City of Seal Beach.

The Department is asking the pubic to be vigilant about their belongings by keeping their houses and cars secured.  Report all suspicious activity to the Police Department by calling 562-799-4100.

Police are asking anyone with additional information about the case to call Detective Chris Hendrix at 562-799-4100 ext. 1109.
