Car goes into flood control channel in Leisure World

A car driven by a Seal Beach man went into the flood control channel that runs down the center of Golden Rain Road in the Leisure World retirement community. His wife was thrown from the car.

On Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 5:12 p.m, Seal Beach Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a traffic collision with injuries in Leisure World at Golden Rain Road and El Dorado Drive, Seal Beach. After arriving, police learned that a 60-year-old man, a resident of Leisure World, Seal Beach, may have suffered from a medical emergency and lost control of his vehicle.

The vehicle ultimately landed in the flood control channel that runs along Golden Rain Road, where his 57-year-old wife was ejected from her front passenger seat. The driver and passenger sustained several injuries that were not life-threatening and both are currently being treated in local hospitals.
