Seal Beach Lions stay diligent with their anti-graffiti program

Lions Ray Longoria and Scott Weir braved the 90-plus degree heat and are seen here covering up an entire 60-foot wall of graffiti. It took two full gallons of paint the cover this up. Most of our efforts involve removing graffiti with special solvents but large tags on porous surfaces require cover up.

The Seal Beach Lions Club began their “Lions Against Graffiti” campaign in June 2010 and since then have removed or covered up more than 3,000 graffiti tags. A dozen or so Lions keep removal supplies in their cars and regularly look for tags in vulnerable places. To report graffiti for quick removal, send an email to: graffittiremoval@sealbeachlions.org  or call 562 370-7836.
