Kevin Woyjeck Explorers for Life Association begins

The launch party of the Kevin Woyjeck Explorers for Life will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, April 4, at Glory Days in Seal Beach, for Association Inc., a scholarship fund that will help others achieve their dream of becoming firefighters.

On June 30, 2013, 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots lost their lives battling the Yarnell, Ariz., wildfire, resulting in the single biggest loss of life in the history of the wildland fire service.

Seal Beach native Kevin Woyjeck was one of those firefighters. People may remember Woyjeck and the other hotshots by giving to the cause.

The objective of the Kevin Woyjeck Explorers for Life Association, Inc. is to help young men and women pursue their dreams of being firefighters just like Woyjeck. The goal is to have funding in place to assure that up-and-coming firefighters can follow their dreams without having to worry about paying for equipment, classes, and other associated costs.

“So join us at Glory Days in Seal Beach on April 4 for good food, good music and a great cause,” said Anna Woyjeck, Kevin’s mother and founder of the Kevin Woyjeck Explorers for Life Association, Inc.

The event is open to the public.
