Cold Stone Creamery in Seal Beach recently concluded its second annual May Month of Giving, raising over $1,000 for Honoring Our Fallen. The organization is dedicated to honoring fallen servicemen and women by providing support for their families. Their programs include birthday parties and gifts for children and retreats for parents, siblings, and spouses.

Owner Sharon Gottlieb said that Cold Stone began collecting money for Honoring Our Fallen after she met founder Laura Herzog, who asked for her help. Cold Stone has been supporting the project for three years.

“There are very few times we speak of the families who pay the price of losing fathers, husbands, sons, and daughters,” Gottlieb said. “It’s such a worthwhile organization. My heart and soul go out to help in any way I can.”

Gottlieb enlisted 20 other Cold Stone Creamery stores to raise money for Honoring Our Fallen last month.

The Seal Beach store has also donated ice cream for a birthday party for children of fallen heroes, and donated 100 percent of their proceeds from selling ice cream at the “Cruise: Honoring Our Fallen” car show in Long Beach.

Anyone can still donate through the store or at honoringourfallen.org.
