Coastal Commission approves residential project

The California Coastal Commission, at the end of a marathon meeting, on Thursday, March 12, approved the development of residential housing on Seal Beach land owned by Bay City Partners.

Details are apprently still being worked out, but the Bay City Partners apparently agreed to give up four lots on the originally proposed 32-lot project, leaving space for 27 or 28 houses to be built on the former site of a Los Angeles Department and Water and Power plant.

The four lots that were removed from the residential partner will be developed for visitor serving use.

Seal Beach city staff will be looking at the conditions imposed on the project.

The Sun will have more information about this story as it develops.
